25 August 2022 MEMO TO : All CICS AND participating banks/Institutions SUBJECT : NON-GENERATION OF ECCS REPORTS IN CICS-AWS MIGRATION 1. As previously mentioned in meetings/several emails with CICS participant banks, we wish to again remind that all ECCS reports will no longer be available when the CICS Backend System is finally migrated to the AWS Cloud which is targeted to GO LIVE on September 23, 2022. 2. In lieu of the dropped ECCS Reports, PCHC has provided a number of CSV files that contain similar data/information that can be utilized by member banks in the daily reconciliation of their transactions. Samples of these files were already made available for download in the ongoing test exercises that banks perform in preparation for the CICS migration. 3. Below are some notable features of the CICS-AWS System, to wit: 3.1. New CSV files for reconciliation purposes were made available for download after cut-off: 3.1.1. Branch wise Settlement file Format The file contains the same information found in the old CRB report. Banks would be able to use this report to reconcile the daily total outward and total inward transactions of each branch/bank. This report will also be the replacement of the old ECCS OTR and ITR reports. 3.1.2. ICL Received Log File Format The file contains the list of all valid inward ICL files from PCHC which banks can use to compare against the list of ICL files receive/processed by their Frontend system. 3.1.3. ICL Presented Log File Format The file contains the list of all valid outward ICL files received by PCHC which banks can use to compare against the list of ICL files sent by their Frontend system to PCHC. 3.2. Centralized validation of ICL files. 3.3. Duplicate checking extended from 4 days to 180 days (6 months) 3.4. MTF file availability with the existing format but with a different filename. 3.5. A virtual machine can now be deployed as a PBM server. 4. It may be recalled that PCHC despite the high costs of system maintenance, license renewal and the obsolescence of the entire ECCS system continued to provide the ECCS reports for banks that are not yet ready when we implemented CICS many years ago with a caveat that concerned banks would work on ways on how to use CICS generated reports for their respective internal processes. 5. As ECCS reports will definitely be dropped, PCHC may study the setting up of a new infrastructure just for the purpose provided the affected or concerned banks are willing to shoulder all the costs mentioned above including the potential costs for the migration activities needed to interface ECCS with the CICS-AWS system. 6. We would appreciate receiving information from concerned banks on their willingness to shoulder the cost if generation of ECCS reports shall be pursued. 7. For information and guidance.
