Only the DATE OF ISSUE and the AMOUNT IN FIGURES have restrictions (must be in the required/ acceptable format).
New presentment of Checks which Date of Issue and/or Amount in Figures are not in the required or acceptable format, are no longer acceptable.
Warehoused Checks though non-compliant were accepted when still valid and as such, acceptable upon presentment when due. However, if dishonored, will lose eligibility for re-clearing starting July 1, 2025 due to the strict enforcement on non-acceptance.
Non-compliant Checks however, may be presented directly to the Drawee Bank for payment.

Based on the survey results, with a response rate of 87% from CICS participants, we have decided to extend the moratorium (on non-acceptance) for another six months. The final implementation will now be July 1, 2025 instead of January 1, 2025.
